Nominations were accepted from anyone who has personal knowledge of the individual and can attest to his/her contribution to the state of Georgia. These individuals came from all parts of the state and each with different backgrounds. Nominees were grouped into seven categories: Academia, Art/Media/Sports, Community Activism, Science/Medicine, Engineering/Technology, Law Enforcement/Politics, and Under 30.
